Senior Photos: What to wear

So you’ve made it! Congrats to you! You might feel that making it this far was one of the hardest things you’ve done or you might feel like it’s been a piece of cake. Whatever the way you feel about it, you need to celebrate your success.

Wether you’re hiring a photographer (or guys let’s be honest your MOM is hiring a photographer) or Those Photo Ladies are coming to your school to take your senior photos you’ll need to think about what to wear! This is by far the question that we get asked the most wether in our family photography side of business or just what to wear to school photos.

We’ve written an article that goes in to general tips about what to wear and what to leave behind for school photos so before you do anything else…READ THIS!

Next here are some specific tips for you for your senior photos. First think about hair and makeup. You’ll need to schedule a haircut somewhere between 7-10 days.

We really really believe that scheduling professional hair and make-up will make your senior photos even more love-able. It give you such great confidence and the right makeup artist knows how to hide blemishes (so you don’t have to pay for retouching later) and accentuate your already natural beauty. For those of you who live in the Dallas area, we work with Christina Singh. Those of you in the Space Coast Florida area we recommend Mary Anne.

For clothing, you want to think about how you want to portray yourself. What do your clothes say about you? We have an excellent select and style tool that you can use to browser popular outfits and with a click of a button order the ones you like. Send us a message and we will get you started with that select and style tool.

It also helps to think about where you want to display these photos. We definitely don’t recommend creating a gallery wall of senior photos. That would be weird! What is the existing decor in the room where you would like to display a few senior photos? If the vibe is warmer, then go with warmer tones for clothing. We recommend choose 3-5 outfit changes for your shoot.
